Hello, I'm Maggie and I can't wait to help you create your magical wedding ceremony!
A wee bit about me
Hiya!
Thanks for visiting my website.
My full name is Margaret Mary McGinty Wood, and I'm indulging my Scottish side with my celebrant work by using my own family name - McGinty.
I was born and grew up in Glasgow, Scotland, with strong Irish family connections. From my teens to late thirties, I dotted between Glasgow and Adelaide before settling here permanently.
My Glasgow accent remains as strong as ever, (hubby says it gets stronger as I get older!), I’m blissfully married to my darling Steven and we live with our dogs as we watch our sons, all grown up, make their marks on the world!

Why should you choose me?
My working life has always centred on human connection and communication, and I've had a lifelong career in corporate communications, theatre, and stand-up comedy - I tend to keep busy!
I’m a professional writer and storyteller to my bones – storytelling is oxygen to me – so your personal love story is in safe hands.
I love working collaboratively, and I’ve won a satisfying clutch of nominations and awards for writing, comedy, and acting – many together with others - so I know the value of working with you, and not just for you.
What does all that mean for you? It means that I bring my skills in designing, writing, producing, and directing events to make sure they hit the right tone that you and your partner want to achieve.
I will write a fabulous ceremony making you both the stars of the show, and I know how to manage the energy in the room - or the paddock - so that your guests are ready to be part of your ceremony in just the way that you envision.
I love any chance to mix my Celtic birth culture with the culture of my chosen homeland, (I was a brand ambassador for Johnnie Walker Black Label Whisky for four years!) and while I'm always ready for a laugh, there is a time and a place for everything.
This is the day that you will look the person you love in the eye and tell them and the world that you love and commit to them, and I am so ready to help you bring the beauty and the solemnity of your commitment to your ceremony, as well as the fun.
I live in Adelaide but am willing to travel to give you the grand waddin’ of your dreams!
Why did I become a Celebrant?
So many people already assumed I was a celebrant and were asking me if I did weddings, or if I would do their wedding that it became overwhelming!
So, I took the Universe's hint, studied, got registered with the Attorney-General's Department, and here I am, ready to marry you and your love in a beautiful ceremony.
Here's a selection of reviews, awards and nominations I've received
